E-mail Question:

I just changed my wireless provider from Verizon to Sprint, but I didn't change my cell phone number, and now my Facebook notifications don't work? Can you help?

Answer:

Hi Tom,

We honestly weren't aware of this issue prior but what happens is Facebook is registered to work on a particular network regardless if the number is the same or not. I'm sure this helps cut down on the number of frauds and hacks out there, such as the switching of sim cards, etc...

What you need to do is log-in to your Facebook account -> Go to account settings -> Mobile ->

1. Click on Remove under your current wireless number and carrier.

a. It will probably be in the form of 1xxx-xxx-xxx (wireless carrier name) and then beside it will say remove.

b. Reload the page to make sure it worked in removing the current number

2. Click on Register for Facebook Text Messages

a. You then need to text the letter F to 32665 (FBOOK) and then you will receive a confirmation code.

b. Enter it in the box.

This should fix the problem. I hope it helps!

Thanks,
